Branham Honored for Capital Litigation Work

Assistant Attorney General Seth Branham has been selected to receive the Appellate Award for Outstanding Advocacy in Capital Cases from the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation, Attorney General Drew Edmondson said today.

Edmondson nominated Branham for the award, which recognizes attorneys who produce outstanding work in the field of capital litigation.

“Seth Branham is a tremendous asset to the attorney general’s office and the State of Oklahoma,” Edmondson said. “It is apparent in his work that he places a tremendous importance on achieving justice for the state and for the victims of capital crimes. His service in this capacity is certainly honorable, and I am proud that this prestigious group has recognized his work.”

Branham received a B.A. from the University of Tulsa in 1995 and a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. He began working at the attorney general’s office as an intern in 1996, and was hired as an assistant attorney general in 1998.

Branham is the sixth Oklahoma Assistant Attorney General to receive this award. He follows Assistant Attorneys General Robert Whittaker, 2007; Jennifer Miller, 2003; Bill Humes, 1999; Sandy Howard, 1997 and Diane Blalock, 1995.
