Attorney General’s Office Arrests Midwest City Man in Soliciting Sexual Contact with a Minor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Investigators with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, a member of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested a Midwest City man on Monday on complaints of soliciting a minor.

Weston Provancher, 21, was arrested at his home in Midwest City on one count of soliciting sexual contact with a minor by use of technology, seven counts of lewd or indecent proposals or acts with a child under 16, and one count of violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

“Child pornography violates, exploits and endangers young victims,” Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. “This criminal activity will not be tolerated and the AG’s Office will continue assisting investigators and local law enforcement to help safeguard Oklahoma families.”

The Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force includes more than 60 partner agencies, including the OSBI and the Attorney General’s Office. Members are specially trained to investigate the exploitation of children through the use of technology.
